After having been poultry producers for some years in the Lanaudière area, Rénald Benny and his seven brothers opened the very first rotisserie in Joliette in 1960. With solid poultry know-how and an increase in popularity of BBQ chicken, the brothers opened their first restaurant to a resounding success, paving the way for future growth.
Rotisseries started to emerge all across Quebec. Rénald Benny, who is responsible for getting the AU COQ brand known, opens rotisseries in Verdun, Rosemont, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Laval.
